Need Info on Download Speed

I have a broadband connection which says speed is "up to" 384 kbps, but in actuality it is stable only at around 120 kbps. at most my download speed if my downloading 1 movie files with lots of seeders is only 45kbps. that is the max. I planning to switch to another provider which offers "up to" 512 kbps hoping that this would somehow increase my DL speed a bit. anyway, they charge the same amount for the service. I would appreciate if you can send me feedbacks by replying on this post how much is your max DL speed and internet connection. or maybe you can give me an idea on how much should be the average download speed if you have a 1mbps connection or 512kbps connection. Internet speeds are measured in (b) bits download speeds are measured in (B) Bytes.

if you have a 1Mb internet speed you would download at about 128KB/s

good rule of thumb is multiply by 8, so 45B=x8=360b, so everything is working as it should.
