i definitely do not need cables, i need the thing that those cables would plug into on a motherboard, because i need to install it in this:
this is one of my 360's i plan on adding fans, and im not exactly sure as to why you think soldering would destroy the mobo...

this is what im lookin for, and im gettin close to finding it:

i would heat one out of an old mobo if i had one laying around that was dead... but i dont... =-(

if you apply the iron too long it will as heat and the board dont mix well.. you just have to be really careful and take your time doing so..
and looking at the pic it looks like the holes may be filled with solder as well which you have to remove... if you have not done this before get a old board to practice on.. de-soldering braid and a solder sucker... i have had to repair stuff like this before and screwed it up...lol
also if you do have a board that is dead take the connectors off of there using the soldering iron
practice makes perfect and here is guide

Agree with schlomo72.Very easy to damage board by applying too much heat.
I too have damaged things, specifically when trying to remove and solder on new USB ports in a laptop.
But maybe im just not great at soldering anything small. |

i understand the mobo can become damaged from heat, the way you phrased it, it was as though it would definitely get damaged... i know how to solder and remove solder, ive got a solder sucker, and braid as well
im basically ready to go on this mod as soon as my part gets here...
what i really want since we are on the topic of soldering is a reflow machine =-D |

because there is nowhere to plug the cable in, this is an xbox 360, thus there is nowhere to plug it in... if i were to bridge it off of the stock fan connection i will burn out the transistors... believe me, ive read up on this for a few days before i decided what i was gonna do... also, i got this 360 for free, and i have another one that i got for $25 so im not out anything if i fry it...

and yea, you are old school as f**k, why not just light a campfire and hold the mobo over it... |

btw just so you dont worry about me smokin this fucker while desoldering it, im not using heat... everyone was having issues with the solder not melting even at 850-900 degrees... some people decided to use drill bits or precision screw drivers... im using a sewing needle to gradually dent it up enough to remove... there is barely any in the holes on my board... they just cap the bottom... |

im not old school , you asked about a 3 PIN IDC MALE , me and schlomo72 gave you a simple way round it and sent you links to try an make it easier for you ,
if you had stated in the first place ( post ) it was a 360 and there was no extra connections for you to add a molex connector i would of looked a bit more into it ...
all you said was you wanted to add a 3 pin connector fan to a motherboard ??? |

i did not call you old school i called schlomo old school for that dusty ass craftsman soldering iron hes got... when i linked the picture of the board i stated exactly what it was (that it was goin into a 360), and then even linked the products that i had found, and even made the font larger so everyone could see that i found it... i appreciate the help, but theres no need in pressing the issue here... |
