Atomship is an awesome band that not many people know about., but their album "The Crash of 47" is in my Top 10 Favorite Albums.
Song Description: "Pencil Fight" is the lead single, and it's a powerful track, both musically and lyrically. Great drumming and vocals, and a killer finish. But it doesn't stop there. "Day of Daze" is a punchy melodic rocker, with heartfelt lyrics, a great way to start the album. "Mothra" begins with a slow, ambient buildup, finally building into pure ferocity, with almost death metalish drum blasts. "Agent Orange" is a very proggy piece, with a lot of crazy time signatures, and a really cool middle section. "Aliens" is very dynamic, starting with a haunting melody, building into a crazy technical part, and finally ending with a crushing staccato riff. One of the definite highlights of the album. "Whitfield" and "Dragonfly" are kind of radio-friendly ballads, with good hooks, but still with a distinctive sound. If these songs don't get radio-play, it truly is a crime. "Time for People", "Plastic People", and "Withered" are big highlights as well, all of which featuring stunning melodies that prove just how amazing of a singer Joey is.
