Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 detected the files that were infected and basically quarantined them, not being able to disinfect most of them. The name of the virus detected is Virus.Win32.Virut.ce. I have only seen this virus infect files that are coming from torrent downloads. I use utorrent and the site I download from is www.isohunt.com. This virus can be very nasty as it can infect every exe file on your hard drive. To make matters worse, not every AV vendor's software can detect and clean this infection. TO get rid of this virus, you have to use the rmvirut.exe tool which can be found here: www.filecluster.com/downloads/Win32-Virut-Remover.html View user's profile Send private message Reply with quote
